Background:
The semi-rural school opened in 1975 on a 30-acre site overlooking the Ouse Valley in North Bedfordshire, and the final phase of the original building programme was completed in 1981. Further building in 1999, 2001 and 2004 added a sixth form centre, music centre and community sports centre. The school has been a specialist college for Media Arts since 1999; has Training Academy status; is a sports hub; has twice been recognised in the OFSTED annual report and received Beacon status. Artsmark Gold and Sportsmark are further ways in which the school has been recognised.
