Background:
Alameda is a county middle school for girls and boys of all abilities aged nine to 13. The school comprises: hall, two science laboratories, design technology centre, food technology room and art room, music room and music practice rooms, resource centre, sports hall, general practical areas and class bases, computer room and sports field. The national curriculum has core subjects including English, mathematics and science and foundation subjects including technology, history, geography, music, art, physical education, information and communication technology, physical social and health education and religious education is also taught as part of the national curriculum. The school aims to provide a caring environment with concern and responsibility for the children shared by all members of staff, both teaching and non-teaching.
